Going slow does not make you a slow rider

My name is Anderson — my close friends call me by my Vietnamese name, Tu. I started my career as a mechanic; my technical skills and knowledge were qualified in Australia, where I learned to ride my first manual bike.

Like all young riders, I used to enjoy riding fast, taking corners like MotoGP racers. Yes, I did ride ruthlessly and did not pay attention to anything around me. Eventually, in my late 20s, I started riding like a man — with responsibilities and awareness, not just for myself but also for my family. My adventure riding started from there.

The adventurous lifestyle is simple: you move, you breathe, you sense, you see, and you hear all the surroundings. This is when all your senses are activated and work at 1000%. Going slow does not make you a slow rider, and there is nothing to be ashamed of as a slow rider. I — we — choose to ride slow, to enjoy more.

In Vietnam, my home country, I have done quite a bit of mileage — up and down from the South (Ho Chi Minh City) to the North (Ha Noi, the capital) and vice versa, and the northern territory alone. I have also taken a number of groups to complete the whole of Vietnam, where memories were made that last a lifetime.

Speed is not an important factor. We ride to enjoy the road, to enjoy the people who ride with us — and the most important factor is safety. Safety first, always.
