Rental Agreement

1. The motorcycle
A technical report sheet and a handover sheet are signed by both the DME manager and the customer, confirming that both parties agree on the condition of the rental bike.
2. Security deposit
A security deposit of 2,000 USD is temporarily held on your credit card. After your ride, our team processes the return and releases the amount accordingly, within 24 hours.
3. Rider obligations
All riders must carry their legal documents with them at all times: an International Driving Permit (IDP), the driving licence from their home country and a valid passport. All riders must obey Vietnamese traffic laws, which the DME team will send you.
4. Damage and loss
We are flexible about light damage from a drop: if the damage is easy to fix, we won’t charge you for it. For major damage that needs replacement parts, we will get a quotation within 2 days and report it to you. All of our bikes are insured up to a maximum of 1,000 USD; if the cost exceeds 1,000 USD, the customer pays the remaining amount.
5. Breakdown and recovery
If the bike breaks down, the rider must immediately report it to the DME tour guide (on a DME tour) or to the DME office (on a bike rental or self-guided tour), and the DME team will support you.
6. Traffic fines
When touring with the DME team or renting a bike from DME, you must obey the law at all times. Speed limits are controlled by the DME tour guide on DME tours; on a bike rental or self-guided tour, DME staff will brief you on them before you collect the bike. Riders are responsible for any traffic fines.
7. Signatures
Documentation is completed at the start of every ride and signed by both parties, DME and the customer, to make sure all information has been given and fully understood, and that the agreement is legally binding.
